Fantastical Resistance
Curated by Jasiatic with QC Family Tree

The artist talk was a really wonderful format. Hosted town hall style, the audience, artists and host gathered collectively in a small auditorium with a few rows of seating all facing a center square. Everyone was given a paper on arrival with questions like- write the title of the piece that… “makes you desire resistance,” “makes you envision liberation for all,” “makes you feel hopeful for the future,” and pencil to walk around the gallery and fill in their answers. So, everyone came to the discussion digesting the artworks. As the curator led us through dialogue, we posed the questions, people were free to share their answers, and the artists were free to respond. It was a very conversational, communal approach to an art discussion.
